2012 Human Rights LuncheonNational Capital Area ChapterTuesday, December 11, 2012 Location: Washington, DC The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area (UNA-NCA) convenes annually for its Human Rights Luncheon to commemorate the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year marks the 64th anniversary, and we hope that you can join us for this year’s celebration on Tuesday, December 11, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in the Caucus Room of the Cannon House Office Building, Capitol Hill. A VIP reception will begin at 11 am for an intimate opportunity to meet this year’s awardees . The UNA-NCA Human Rights Luncheon draws our attention to the amazing work and progress that individuals are making to advance Human Rights and gives each of us an opportunity to reflect on our role as leaders and supporters of this collective mission. The 2012 UNA-NCA Louis B. Sohn Human Rights Award will be presented to Tom Andrews, former member of Congress and President and CEO of United to End Genocide, for his life-long contributions to justice. UNA-NCA will also present the 2012 Perdita Huston Human Rights Award to Charito Kruvant, founder and CEO of Creative Associates International, for her exemplary role in educational and technical development, especially with women and girls, and for leading a life of public service. As this event has reached capacity in previous years, we recommend that places or tables be reserved by November 27. For ticket information, please visit the official 2012 Human Rights Luncheon event page or go straight to the registration page by clicking HERE. Whether or not you can join us in person, you may want to consider one of these Tribute opportunities -- an excellent way to demonstrate support on this truly memorable occasion. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Sara Tavakoli, Assistant to the UNA-NCA Executive Director, at sara@unanca.org, or at 202.223.6092.
