Educating for Peace and Diplomacy WorldwideBlue Ridge ChapterSunday, October 21, 2012 Location: Charlottesville, Va Join our Blue Ridge Chapter for a special program to celebrate International UN Day. UNA programs "Global Classrooms" and the "Model UN" are bridging the education gap and creating global citizens. Global Classrooms, has been transformed from a promising national program into an international network enriching students' lives around the world. Global Classrooms has become a premiere international education program offering students valuable insight into the growing influence of globalization. It helps prepare students in underserved communities, and it teaches students to be global citizens by developing literacy skills including the ability to read critically and communicate effectively in writing. Over the past decade, Global Classrooms has worked in 24 major cities around the world, helping bridge the gap in the Model UN community between experienced programs and traditionally underserved public schools or schools new to Model UN. With the support of its sponsors and local project partners, Global Classrooms uses Model UN to cultivate a generation of inspired global citizens in nations around the world and symbolizes excellence in international education.
