If you have ever wondered where our fundraising event dollars go to, look no further than Model United Nations.  Our chapter is proud to partner with the USF Model United Nations Team in organizing two Model UN Conferences for our Tampa Bay Area Students.  The November 13th conference was an enormous success with 196 students attending.  The April 22, 2016 Model United Nations Conference provides yet another opportunity for our middle and high school students to engage in global issues and learn valuable skills.

Dr. Sergi Kambalov, a Russian economist and expert on Russia, who served at the UN for 21 years, will explore current complex issues and their present contentious unfolding. Following Dr. Kambalov's lecture, foreign policy students from Shepaug Valley High School and Marvelwood School will each offer presentations. The students, including Bianca Getzel, on of Gunn Memorial Library's pages, will represent and speak as Ambassadors from diferent from different countries to the UN Security Council and will try to expose their nations' view on Russia today.

Program begins at 2:00pm EST.

The United Nations Fair is an amazing festival showcasing the incredible diversity we have at Carpenter Charter School!  Families volunteer to represent their countries with displays that include food, games, and activities.  Children will get 'pasports' which they have stamped as they visit different tables.  Kids can wear traditional clothes to school that day.
