About the Conference

At SCMUN, students will have the opportunity to engage with the complexities of the modern international system by representing states, non-governmental organizations, and international corporations in several diplomatic simulations. The theme of this year's conference is Uneven Globalization, and the committee topics address the issues and crises that surface due to the disparity between developed and developing nations. Students will analyze and debate these critical international contentions, including Western Petroleum Corporations' Atrocities in Africa, Nuclear Proliferation, International Criminal Prosecution and Extradition, Democratization, and a host of other pressing topics. Committees

The Security Council, Human Rights Council, International Court of Justice, and a crisis simulation of the European Council will be represented at SCMUN. Additionally, if your delegation exceeds ten students, you may suggest another committee that you would like to be incorporated into the conference while registering at http://munsc.wordpress.com/scmun-registration/. While inclusion of these suggestions cannot be guaranteed, the Secretary-General will try to accommodate all requests.
