Setting the Record Straight: How the United Nations Supports U.S.Golden Empire ChapterSaturday, October 27, 2012 Location: Grass Valley, Cali. The American public is frequently exposed to misinformation and false attacks about the United Nations. Ryan Kaminski will address some of the most common criticisms and misconceptions of the United Nations and highlight many of the UN activities that are clearly in the interest of the US. The talk will also feature a preview of critical events of the current General Assembly and the U.N. Human Rights Council. 2:30 p.m.: Unity of the Gold Country 7:00 p.m.: Unitarian Universalist Community in the Mountains in Grass Valley, CA Ryan Kaminski is the United Nations Association of the USA Leo Nevas Human Rights Fellow. He has a strong background in human rights, U.S. foreign policy, and the United Nations and other international institutions. Before joining the UNA-USA, Ryan Kaminski was a research associate at the Council on Foreign Relations' International Institutions and Global Governance Program where he focused on researching global and regional human rights issues. He also was a Fulbright Fellow in Hong Kong. |
