Global Classrooms: Catania

Global Classrooms would like to thank all of the delegates, advisors, special guests, and staff for a successful Global Classrooms: Catania Conference. We hope to see everyone again next year.

About Global Classrooms: Catania

Our newest partner, the Associazione Diplomatici hosted their first Global Classrooms conference on March 26-27, 2011.

Associazione Diplomatici organizes Model UN training courses for middle, high and university level students all over the world. In Italy,  Diplomatici was the first Italian organization to take part in Model UN. For the past decade, Associazione Diplomatici has prepared hundreds of Italian students in the art of negotiation, public speaking and conflict resolution using Model UN rules of procedure. Their students have gone on to successfully compete in MUN conferences all over the world. Diplomatici's 2009 delegation to New York City’s’ UNA-USA’s MUN conference won a Best Delegation award.

Diplomatici has participated in UNA-USA’ MUN Conferences since 2007 and trained approximately 500 students. Last year, Diplomatici joined UNA USA’s Global Classroom Model UN program  and became Italy’s sole affiliate authorized to organize the first Italian Global Classrooms Conference in June 2010. The Conference will welcome students from all over the world who will be invited to represent the UN committees such as the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council and the Security Council. The Conference will be organized with the cooperation of the Department of International Law of the University of Catania.
