About London

London’s rich history, from the founding of the ancient roman city to the bustling metropolis it is today, spans 2000 years. Throughout its time, London has been a leader in many major historical movements, including the English Renaissance, the Industrial Revolution, and the Gothic Revival. This rich history has helped to make it a major global center.

Today, London is one of the world’s major business and cultural centers, with a significant influence in world politics, entertainment, fashion, education and art. London’s diverse population represents an enormous range of different peoples, cultures and religions. More than 300 languages are spoken in the city. It is not only the capital of the United Kingdom, it is the largest metropolitan center in the European Union, making it an international capital city as well.

In this diverse international center, the leadership and global literacy skills taught by Global Classrooms are essential. Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills serve London’s students in both the classroom and their diverse local and European community.
