HERO: A UNA-USA Campaign provided comprehensive, community and school-based support to children and families in areas affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Though UNA’s participation in the HERO campaign ended in December 2009, during its three years of operation in partnership with the US Agency for International Development the program sent 56 teens from the United States and Canada to sub-Saharan Africa where they worked with orphans and other children living in HIV/AIDS-affected communities.
