To commemorate United Nations Day, the UNA-USA Albuquerque Chapter will present a two-day program "Victory Over Violence"-October 21 and 22 at the Albuquerque Peace and Justice Centre. It caps a month-long exhibit on non-violence in association with the Soka Gakkai International Buddhist group in Albuquerque. The goal is to raise awareness about different facets of violence and how to minimize it in society.

Speakers are Craig Barnes, Santa Fe, NM, international mediator, champion of civil society and the rule of law, as well as author of "Democracy at the Crossroads." Steven Valdivia, author of "Forces...Gangs to Riots – Evolution to Gangs, Riots and Back to Peace,” will also speak at the event.
