Event Updates from the Council of OrganizationsSeptember 28, 2012 COO Convenes Panel on Gender EqualityMore than 100 representatives of area organizations joined UNA-USA’s Council of Organizations (COO) at the Salvation Army auditorium in New York City for a panel discussion on “Women’s Unfinished Business at the UN”. Attendees heard from leaders at UN Women and other NGOs on the status of gender equality in developing nations and the UN system today. The panel also discussed needs and strategies moving forward to improve health, economics, and civic participation for women worldwide.
