Parents, medical experts, celebrities and policy makers in support of global vaccine efforts join forces to stop 1.5 million annual preventable deaths in developing countries

Over 100,000 people to kick-off United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign to raise awareness, funds, and advocate for expanded access to life-saving immunizations

Every 20 seconds a child dies around the world of a disease that can be prevented by a vaccine. Even with increased global immunization rates, one in five children around the world still lacks access to these life-saving vaccines, largely due to funding gaps.

To help meet this need, the United Nations Foundation is launching Shot@Life, a first-of-a-kind campaign to build awareness, raise funds and advocate for the millions of children in developing countries who do not have access to life-saving immunizations. Together with partners and a growing movement of over 100,000 strong who are already mobilizing across the U.S. to support childhood globally; supporters are rallying as a powerful force in closing the gap on vaccine access around the world.

Shot@Life will benefit the GAVI Alliance, UNICEF and the World Health Organization which already save lives and improve the health of millions of children around the world every day.

About Shot@Life

Shot@Life educates, connects and empowers Americans to champion vaccines as one of the most cost-effective ways to save the lives of children in developing countries.  A national call to action for this global cause, the campaign rallies the American public, members of Congress, and civil society partners around the fact that together, we can save a child’s life every 20 seconds by expanding access to vaccines.  By encouraging Americans to learn about, advocate for, and donate vaccines, the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign decreases vaccine-preventable childhood deaths and give children a shot at a healthy life.  To learn more, go to ShotAtLife.org.
