Important Tax Information for Chapters
It is tax season once again! As a Chapter granted non-profit status under the Better World Fund/UNA-USA group exemption, you are required to file Tax Form 990 with the IRS. 990 filings for the 2012 tax year are due on May 15, 2013. If you do not file, your non-profit status may be revoked. Most UNA-USA Chapters will file form 990-N, otherwise known as the e-postcard and may be accessed here. The 990-N asks for just eight items of basic information about your Chapter. You will need your Chapter’s EIN or federal tax ID number to file your 990-N. Please note that the IRS recognizes the Better World Fund as the parent organization of all UNA Chapters. If you have questions or need assistance accessing your Chapter’s EIN, please contact Monika Johnson.
