The United Nations Association of Westchester invites Westchester residents and motivated students to join us for a county-wide showcase of student projects and campaigns that respond to the climate crisis. UNA-Westchester’s celebration of United Nations Day 2019 will be held on October 20th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Ave., White Plains NY 10605.

This UN Day celebration will be a follow-up to our Annual Meeting which featured Westchester leaders who are successfully taking action on the climate crisis. The discussion will be led by Nina Orville (Co-chair, Energy Committee, Westchester Climate Crisis Task Force) and Peter McCartt (Director, Sustainable Westchester and Chair, Climate Crisis Task Force).

We have invited the Ambassador of a small island country to the United Nations to address our group on global issues related to climate action. We have invited local political leaders and climate specialists. There will be a networking ZERO-WASTE reception to follow the program.

All Westchester residents are cordially invited. Please bring your friends and family to this important celebration of the United Nations 74th anniversary. The event is free and open to the public.
