Human Rights Day Advocacy
For Human Rights Day, we’re taking action.
Call your Members of Congress and fight to protect and advance human rights at home and around the world.
See our Advocacy ActionsHuman Rights Day, observed every year on December 10, honors the United Nation’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and all that it protects. Regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political opinion, national origin, property, or birth, we are all entitled to inalienable rights as human beings. Though we have made much progress towards these goals, there’s still much to be done.
We invite chapters to plan their own Human Rights Day programming with the help of our toolkit, and all UNA-USA members are encouraged to attend our virtual conversation on the U.S. response to human rights issue areas including indigenous, immigrant, and women’s sexual and reproductive health rights on December 8th from 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. ET. Learn more about the program here.

PledgeOur toolkit provides resources for chapters to host their own events for Human Rights Day and will be continually updated as the date approaches.
If you’re planning an event with your chapter for Human Rights Day, we’ll help out by connecting you with a speaker! All you need to do is provide the details by November 11.
