What is included in the registration fee?
The fee covers UNA-USA swag and meals, including breakfast, lunch, attendance to our exclusive congressional reception, refreshments for all in-person days, and scheduling your congressional meetings.
What can I expect as far as estimated expenses for accommodations?
Breakfast and lunch are provided by UNA-USA, so participants are expected to cover their evening meals independently in addition to lodging and travel fees.
Is there a room block for Advocacy Summit at the Yotel? If so, how do I book my room?
We were thrilled to announce that we had secured a discounted rate at the Yotel for your stay during the 2025 US-UN Advocacy Summit. However, the deadline to book for the special rate was Monday, May 26th. You can still book your accommodations using the following link.
Is there any financial assistance offered for attendees?
In the initial application, we asked for those interested to express desire in receiving financial assistance. By this time, you should’ve received a response from us on whether or not you received a stipend. Unfortunately, we have limited funds and cannot offer everyone a scholarship.
How do I express a need for an accessibility accommodation?
You can let us know in the registration form. It’s one of the questions. You can also email Maria Amalla at mamalla@unfoundation.org
I am no longer able to attend. Am I able to get a refund?
We are not offering refunds for this summit.
What’s the dress code?
Please plan to wear business casual attire for Monday. On Tuesday, our Lobby Day, we ask that you wear your UNA-USA shirt, which will be available to in-person attendees, or business casual again. Examples include slacks and a business jacket over your UNA t-shirt or a skirt and a cardigan or business jacket over your UNA t-shirt.
Why is Lobby Day required for in-person attendees?
Advocacy, specifically meeting with our Members of Congress, is one of the most IMPORTANT actions we can take. By bringing the need for full UN funding to the attention of congressional offices, we are giving a voice to the voiceless. After all, UNA-USA is a movement of Americans who believe that our interests and values can best be advanced by standing with the planet’s only truly universal institution: The United Nations. We stand up for the UN, so the UN can keep standing up for the world. That’s why your presence at the US Capitol is critical.
How will we view our congressional schedules?
This year, we are using Advocacy Associates’ app again. Don’t worry, we will provide training during Advocacy Summit! But you are more than welcome to watch a quick video to get a better understanding of the app: bit.ly/3LBhUaH.
***If you cannot download the app, you will also have access to a web portal with the information for your congressional meetings. You are more than welcome to bring your I-pad and pull up the page. Please email Maria Amalla at mamalla@unfoundation.org for any more questions.
What prohibited items are not allowed inside the House and Senate Buildings?
Please see the following link for an extensive list of items: bit.ly/40dIH1a.
I am bringing minors to Advocacy Summit and want them to be as prepared as possible. What numbers can I share with them in case of an emergency at the Capitol?
Please see the following link for a list of phones numbers to call when reporting an emergency within the Capitol Complex: https://www.uscp.gov/contact-us.
If I check out of my hotel Tuesday morning to avoid additional hotel fees, where can I store my luggage (for the rest of Tuesday) while I am participating in congressional meetings?
Don’t worry, the hotel can store your luggage while you are participating in congressional meetings or enjoying the congressional reception!
My question isn’t on here!
If you have any additional questions regarding the event itself or technical questions about registration, please contact membership@unausa.org. Reminder, registration is closed, and we are not accepting new registrants.
