Universal Periodic Review: A Dialogue Between Civil Society and UN Missions
In February, UNA-USA partnered with the Columbia Law School Human Rights Institute and the U.S. Human Rights Network to bring together civil society and UN Missions for a UPR consultation on a variety of issues related to human rights in the U.S.
“The great thing we’ve learned by doing these UPRs is that anyone and everyone can get involved and have a say on how we feel that human rights issues are occurring in our country, and things that we think need to be resolved.”
-Rachel Bowen Pittman, Executive Director, UNA-USA
Panel topics included:
- Indigenous Rights
- Immigration, Refugees, and Displaced People
- Gender and Reproductive Justice
- Criminal Justice
- Local, City, and State Issues
