Emerging Leaders Fellowship: Make the Global Goals Famous

The UNA-USA Emerging Leaders Fellowship provides professional development to UNA-USA Students and Young Professionals under 40 who commit to participating in monthly virtual discussions and leading a local initiative.

The theme of the fall 2021 Emerging Leadership cohort theme will be “Make the Global Goals Famous!” Fellows will learn about communications initiatives and tactics for promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals in their communities. Examples of initiatives Fellows might promote include: MySDGDream, Innerview service projects, or another local initiative. Tactics used might include: creating a podcast series, developing information graphics on Canva, creating a video, writing a blog or article, contributing to a communications or promotions plan of a local chapter. Fellows will gain the skills necessary to implement these initiatives through the course of the Emerging Leaders Fellowship.

All program participants will create a communications initiative over the course of the Fellowship and present their action plan to the National Office, the cohort participants, and their local UNA-USA chapters. There is no cost to participate.

Due to UNA-USA staffing changes, the Emerging Leaders Program is on pause, and we hope to be able to open the application up in the fall.

Requirements for Participation:

  • Must be a UNA-USA paid member (or registered youth member)
  • Must be committed to participating in five webinar trainings (at least 3 of them being live participation)
  • Must plan to launch a communications initiative with their local UNA-USA chapter
