DESCRIPTION
Protecting human rights around the world was a key purpose in the founding of the United Nations 75 years ago. Yet today, here in the U.S., the human rights of Black Americans are under threat. Join our efforts to end racial injustice, oppression, and institutionalized racism in America.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights is seeking input from civil society and other relevant stakeholders regarding:
– Combating systemic racism
– Excessive force used against peaceful protestors, journalists, and bystanders
– Government and institutional responses to human rights abuses related to these matters
If you have experiences from your community that you would like to share regarding these issues, we invite you to join our discussion. UNA-USA members are invited to provide written input for the report, AND/OR join our discussion Tuesday, December 1 at 4:30 pm ET. Both written input and feedback shared during the call will be summarized and submitted to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
