The United Nations Association of the National Capital Area has been a leading force in support, awareness, and action to bring local implementation of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women in Washington DC. On Monday May 16th from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. EST, UNA-NCA will host a discussion on how the District of Columbia can advance women’s rights with the passage of B24-0649discuss the recent enactment of a Fairfax resolution in recognition of CEDAW, and highlight best practices on the successful implementation of CEDAW in San Francisco. We invite you all to join us for the important discussion and work to support the advancement of CEDAW in D.C.

      • Neah Everling, Legislative Counsel to Councilmember White, principle sponsor of the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women Amendment Act of 2022.
      • Jill Follows, UN Observer for the League of Women Voters (2017-2020) and Co-Director of Action and Advocacy for the League of Women Voters- Fairfax area, Virginia (2020-2022)
      • CEDAW Representative in San Francisco
