DESCRIPTION

This event follows a plenary session and panel discussions at the Fox School of Business earlier in the day, organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It commemorates as well the 75th anniversary of the landmark ILO Declaration of Philadelphia in 1944 at Mitten Hall, Temple University.

The Declaration of Philadelphia set a new agenda for labor rights in the post war period. It asserted the right of all people “to pursue material well-being and spiritual development under conditions of freedom, dignity, economic security and equal opportunity.” Its adoption is an important part of Philadelphia’s distinction as a World Heritage City.
