Connecting the Dots – Gun Violence and Human Rights.

Across the world, guns are used far more often to violate. Gun violence is a contemporary global human rights issue threatening our most fundamental human rights, the right to life (UDHR Article 3).

Gun violence is a daily tragedy affecting the lives of individuals around the world. More than 500 people die every day because of violence committed with firearms. In the U.S. 30,000 people each year alone (source: Amnesty International).

Anyone can be affected by firearm violence but in certain situations gun violence disproportionately impacts communities of color, women and other marginalized groups in society.

San Diego Chapter of UNA-USA is partnering with San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention (SD4GVP). Join the conversation/workshop as we shift the discussion from US constitutional right to bear arms to our right to live free of violence and fear. Explore the latest legislative push by SD4GVP to pass common-sense legislation at the state and federal levels that can protect people from gun violence.
