DESCRIPTION

12 – 1:20 p.m.

Across the globe – even here in the U.S. – millions of women and girls experience poverty in many forms and the lack of access to feminine hygiene products certainly are concerns of immense health risks.

On August 24, we feature Oscar-winning Netflix documentary, “Period, End of Sentence” followed by a panel of experts from our local community partners Planned Parenthood, #Happy Period and CouldYou?.

With Period Poverty, we highlight the importance of menstrual health in achieving the U.N. Global Goals, also known a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as it impacts health, sanitation, education, gender equality, and responsible consumption.

Learn about local efforts and best practices on how to engage the community in our pursuit to provide understanding on the health aspects of monthly menstruation when lacking basic sanitation and the need to #BreakTheStigma.
