United Nations Day 2020

On October 24, 1945, the United Nations was created. Every year for the month of October, UNA-USA and its 200+ chapters around the country activate in their communities by hosting events centered around a certain global issue.

This year, we’re celebrating a momentous milestone: the UN’s 75th anniversary.

2020 Theme

Since UNA-USA’s founding, we have always believed that nations working together through the UN are the best hope for peace and progress for all.

To celebrate the UN’s 75th anniversary in 2020, we reflected on the past, celebrated the accomplishments of the present, and looked forward to progress, toward a better and brighter future for everyone, everywhere.

UN75: American Voices

To help mark the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, UN Secretary-General António Guterres launched UN75 to gather ideas and opinions from people everywhere. We gathered Americans’ voices from all 50 states, Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico in order to understand what Americans think about the current and future state of the world.
