Dr. Allehone Abebe 

Dr. Allehone Abebe is a Senior Policy Advisor at UNHCR New York Office. He has worked in different capacities for UNHCR in Switzerland, Nigeria, Ethiopia and South Sudan. He served as a senior diplomat at both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic Ethiopia and the Permanent Mission of Ethiopia in Geneva (2007–2011). He has written widely on human rights, migration, and the experience of forced displacement. He holds a doctoral degree from University of Bern (2012) with Summa cum laude. His book titled The Emerging Law of Forced Displacement in Africa: Development and implementation of the Kampala Convention on internal displacement has been published by Routledge in 2017.
