Moise Ballo

Moise Ballo joined the WFP office in New York as External Partnerships Officer in November 2019. At WFP, he has worked to promote food security, nutrition, resilience building and human capital development and to provide humanitarian assistance and disaster relief in a career that spans more than 18 years. From 2016 to 2019, Mr. BALLO served as Senior Programme Officer in WFP’s office in Chad. From 2013 to 2016, he served as Deputy Country Director in WFP’s office in Mauritania. From 2004 to 2013, he oversaw food security analysis and monitoring; early warning; contingency planning and preparedness; emergency response planning and implementation, successively in WFP’s offices in Mali, Central African Republic and Niger, helping vulnerable persons, households and communities to recover from crises. Before coming to WFP, Mr. Ballo spent 5 years working as national public servant in the areas of operational research and teaching / training. He received two Master’s Degrees from universities in Mali and Ukraine and a Ph.D. in Geography from Aix-Marseille University in France.
