Chapter Spotlight: UNA Los Angeles Chapter – Creating A Home Full of Hope, Dignity and Love

Home has never meant more than it does today. In celebration of 2021 UN Day and Human Rights Day, UNA Los Angeles Chapter partnered with A Sense of Home community and helped create homes for the young people exiting foster care just in time for the holidays!

One study showed that 50% of those struggling with homelessness are former foster youth. The homeless crisis can only end through prevention. UNA Los Angeles Chapter and A Sense of Home  believe in preventing homelessness by creating first-ever homes for youth aging out of foster care system by redistributing donated furniture and home goods and mobilizing the community to create those homes.

Thanks to UNA Los Angeles Chapter and this partnership, the chapter has raised $6,000 to create a home full of hope, dignity and love for Bryana, a previously homeless foster youth who is now in school getting her AA to be a psychologist.
