Jenny Yang
Jenny Yang is currently serving as part of the External Relations team at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Washington, D.C., where she leads efforts to engage policymakers, stakeholders, and the public on behalf of displaced communities worldwide.
Previously, Jenny was the Vice President of Advocacy and Policy at World Relief, where she oversaw the organization’s advocacy initiatives and public policy engagement and served on the Executive Leadership Team. She began her tenure at World Relief as a Senior Case Manager and East Asia Program Officer, managing the refugee caseload for U.S. resettlement and advocating for refugee protection in the East Asia region.
Jenny brings decades of experience in humanitarian advocacy and refugee protection, having also worked in political campaign fundraising and contributed to UNHCR operations in Madrid, Spain. She is a co-author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion and Truth in the Immigration Debate and has served in leadership roles with Refugee Council USA (RCUSA), including as Chair of the Africa Work Group.
A trusted voice on refugee and immigration issues, Jenny has been featured in The New York Times, The Economist, CNN, Christianity Today, and The Christian Post, among others. She regularly speaks at conferences, universities, and faith communities across the country.
