#MySDGDream: From Inspiration to Action

#MySDGDream was inspired by the urgency, necessity and opportunity we all have to do something during the decade of action leading up to 2030.  Agreed upon by the United Nations, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (also known as “Global Goals,” or “SDGs”) create a roadmap to achieving the world we want: a world that works for everyone. As advocates, this is more than a mantra, it is our personal mandate!

Growing up, I recognized the tremendous responsibility we have as global citizens to serve as the “rent” we pay for our space on Earth.  My journey into civil and human rights advocacy began when I joined the NAACP in elementary school. Now, at 30 years old, my identity is rooted in my passion as both a public servant and someone who continues to advocate locally to globally.

My hope, as creator of #MySDGDream, is that you discover what it means to “leave no one behind” in your communities. Commit to taking one small action each day that brings your family, your school, your place of work, your neighborhood, and our shared global village closer to living out the dream and promise of the Goals.

Your voice. Your commitments. Your small daily steps are the giant leaps toward achieving the changes we need to see in the world.

So –  What is your dream? Share it with us using #MySDGDream – and invite others to do the same.
