Acknowledging the exceptional and courageous leadership of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in advancing LGBT rights, the Task Force invited the secretary-general to address violence and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in his February 2014 address to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Later at the launch of the Olympics in Sochi, the secretary general specifically referenced the need to protect LGBT human rights declaring, “We must all raise our voices against attacks on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex people” and that “Hatred of any kind must have no place in the 21st century.”

Give the Gift of Education!
Did you know that only 61 percent of refugee children are currently enrolled in school? Children’s education shouldn’t suffer when their lives are uprooted. That’s why we’re working together with USA for UNHCR to prevent a lost generation by educating young refugees in the Dadaab and Kakuma refugee camps in Kenya.
These young refugees are eager to learn. With your act of generosity, they’ll have access to the quality education they deserve. Thanks to the generous match from the Educate a Child Fund of Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser of Qatar, your gift will be doubled.
