UNA Blue Ridge Chapter – There is an urgent need to spread awareness of humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The Stand with the People of Ukraine event on March 26th, 2022 brought together United Nations Association Blue Ridge Chapter, International Rescue Committee, and Amnesty International. Organizer Bob McAdams remembers the Cold War vividly and said the Russian invasion of Ukraine has brought back those memories.

“The images of Russian tanks invading Ukraine and the threat that Putin has made of using nuclear weapons, it just brought back all those memories, and really struck home for me that this shadow that’s been on all my life of possible nuclear war, will that same shadow be on the lives of my grandchildren,” said McAdams.
