University Involvement with UNA-USA and Model UN

Staffing Conferences

It is our pleasure to invite you to be part of the Staff of the 2016 Global Classrooms International Model United Nations Conferences in New York City.

The Annual Global Classrooms Model United Nations Conferences bring together more than 3,500 high school and middle school students from around the world to discuss diverse and pressing international issues at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

We are glad to inform you that the Lebanese American University (LAU) was entrusted with the ownership of both the Global Classrooms International Model UN conferences and will organize, in partnership with the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNAUSA), the two events in New York as of the year 2015-2016. It is only with the help of dedicated leaders, like yourselves, that high school and middle school students from around the world are able to enjoy this enriching experience that will immerse them into the world of Model United Nations. We look forward to supporting your efforts in preparing for successful and enriching conferences.

The conference dates for this year are:

· The Global Classrooms International Middle School Model United Nations: March 31-April 2, 2016

· The Global Classrooms International High School Model United Nations: May 12-14, 2016

College and University Involvement

Colleges and Universities are vital to the success of Global Classrooms worldwide. They serve as local project partners in cities such as Beijing, Houston, Beirut, Tampa, Madrid, and Seoul where they are charged with implementing the program. In addition to staffing the Global Classrooms MUN conferences, many volunteer as year-long Model UN trainers – they visit schools and meet with students and teachers in their classroom setting. Numerous Global Classrooms Model UN conferences are hosted on university campuses giving students a glimpse into their future academic careers.

UNA-USA has partnered with students who represent over 170 colleges and universities worldwide, including:
