Staffing Conferences
Volunteers make Global Classrooms possible. Experienced Model UN participants at colleges and universities across the U.S. and around the world provide substantive expertise, planning support and on-site management of our teaching and learning conferences.
Being selected to be a part of our conferences, whether in your local area or at our international middle and high school conferences in New York, takes commitment. Volunteering for a Global Classrooms conference is more than a one day event. Our conference staffers help with training sessions, learn our style and rules, get to know their fellow volunteers, grade position papers, study and even write background guides, and work closely with our program staff and partners.
Senior secretariat members go even further, helping recruit and train volunteers, working with local teachers, and assisting in conference logistics.
Volunteering for a Global Classrooms is an opportunity for college students to use their skills for a unique service learning experience. Our volunteer staff works hard to reach Global Classrooms’ high expectations, and participants create friendship and build bonds that last far beyond college.

Senior secretariat applications for our international conferences (GCIMUN and MSMUN) will be posted soon. Please check this page for further details.
College and University Involvement
Colleges and Universities are vital to the success of Global Classrooms worldwide. They serve as local project partners in cities such as Beijing, Houston, Beirut, Tampa, Madrid, and Seoul where they are charged with implementing the program. In addition to staffing the Global Classrooms MUN conferences, many volunteer as year-long Model UN trainers – they visit schools and meet with students and teachers in their classroom setting. Numerous Global Classrooms Model UN conferences are hosted on university campuses giving students a glimpse into their future academic careers.
UNA-USA has partnered with students who represent over 170 colleges and universities worldwide, including:
